Free at Last! Free at Last!

Woo Hoo!!!! Those were the first words out of my mouth after I signed my last check made out to the order of my credit card company... well, maybe the first words, but second sounds. The first were more like sobs at the thought of my checking account loosing more money than Wall Street lately. But let me tell you, once the shock of writing out such a big check to such a worthless cause wore off, I felt GREAT! The weight of debt was lifted and it feels so good to be FREE!

The Cadillac of Bikes

I love my Townie! No matter the time of day or night the Dreamsicle Orange turns heads and gets noticed. (At my age I need all the help I can get!) I've put many miles on it since I bought it in 2007 and my butt hasn't complained once. It's SO comfy! I just couldn't resist my accessories, the side mirror, the water bottle holder and the TrekPack.

At first, getting used to the new riding position, I took a turn and met the curb. I was unscathed and luckily so was the bike. I quickly got into the groove of the new feel of things and I could ride for miles without any discomfort at all. I enjoy my regular trails and love to explore new ones. Just talking about it makes me want to get out and ride!

Monday's Healthy Recipe

My goal is to post a tasty and healthy recipe each week. This week's recipe is a family favorite, it doesn't last long around here! It is a heart friendly energizer for breakfast or a crunchy snack. We even like it for dessert. It's been kid tested and approved as well. Check out the recipe at the bottom of my page, dig in and stop by next week for another Monday Healthy Recipe.

Mit Liebe

This is my way of keeping all of you up to date with what the 'real world' is like for me now that I'm retired. Here is your first glimpse into one of my relaxing weekends in retirement...

Get this... this isn't even my quilt. I've taken on the task of helping out a good friend by finishing the bindings on two of her quilts. **Hint, hint, maybe I'll get a quilt in repayment :o)

You know what they say about idle hands, so I like to keep mine busy.

Stay tuned for my next adventure in the 'real world'....
